The Episcopagans always used to say they were following a “new Spirit.” Yeah, we know what spirit it was. (See I John 4).

Episcopal Church Numbers Continue to Plummet: AUG2018-AUG2019 Baptized membership dips 2.1%; ASA drops 4.2%

I left TEC in 2003 because of this matter. I still have contacts at that parish in the metro-Birmingham, AL, area. Since 2003 they have gone through 4 rectors. During this time the health of the parish declined but it was still viable. They have had a new rector, their 5th, for a 1 year. He has truly revitalized the parish and is a gifted clergyman, but totally consumed with the social Gospel. The few remaining orthodox-believing and/or Republican members are all >70 years of age. Generatons X-Y-Z are filling the pews now along with several open LGBTQs. Some say that AL is the most conservative state in the union. If that is true, then I have sad news. The cultural Marxism in our public schools has taken root and its first fruit is Generation X-Y-Z.
