I’d be more ready to believe that if I wasn’t accused of all kinds of wickedness for the sin of ignoring Mary in favor of Jesus.
I’ll happily accept that’s what you believe, but I don’t think that’s what others believe.
While Mary may point to Jesus it is the Roman Catholic who points to Mary often in lieu of Christ. Montfort and Ligouri testify to this in their writings.

Catholics have taken that simple blessing and made her into a demigoddess, with all kinds of titles and powers God never gave her.
Is this icon Coptic? The large eyes and naive look is very much in the Coptic style. I lived in Egypt for 11 years and have a number of Coptic icons which I like very much.
