[Catholic Caucus] Missouri Bishop Wants to Gag Michelle Malkin, Squeezes Disavowal From Pro-Life Group

Bishop Edward Rice unhappy with Malkin's criticism of U.S. bishops and immigration lobbying

Following noted political commentator and author Michelle Malkin's presentation to the Missouri-based Vitae Foundation, Springfield-Cape Girardeau Bp. Edward Rice succeeded in intimidating the pro-life organization and slurred Malkin for her remarks linking the Catholic Church and illegal immigration.

Malkin was the featured speaker at a Vitae Foundation event in Springfield, Missouri, on Aug. 20. As part of her 40-minute reflections on the pro-life movement and her personal pro-life experiences as the daughter of a neonatalogist, Malkin briefly diverged from her topic and connected the dots between the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) and the illegal immigration industry.

In an exclusive interview with Alex Marlow, editor-in-chief of Breitbart News, that was broadcast on Sirius XM Patriot's Breitbart News Daily, Malkin described Bp. Rice's reaction:

I simply mentioned that [the connection between the USCCB and illegal immigration], and as punishment, a bishop in that state of Missouri threatened the funding of the organization that I was speaking to unless they disavowed the 40 seconds out of a 40-minute speech that I had given to this pro-life group.

Out of conscience [see below], Bp. Rice had not attended the pro-life event. But someone who did attend the event reported Malkin's remarks, thus triggering the bishop's ire.

Rice is St. Louis archdiocese born and bred. He spent his entire career in the archdiocese until 2016 when Pope Francis appointed him bishop of the diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau.

The diocese was willing to share this portion of the letter Bp. Rice sent to the Vitae Foundation:

I write to express my strong disappointment at the derogatory comments made at the August 20, 2019, Vitae Dinner by Michelle Malkin regarding the Catholic Bishops of the United States.

No group of persons or organization has done more for the cause of protecting the life of the unborn than the US Catholic Bishops. Catholics are followers of Jesus Christ and not worshipers of a political party. It is a sad reality in our day that many persons are more beholden to a political ideology than to their faith in our Lord and Savior.

When the current administration, or any administration, acts to promote the common good, as it recently did by discontinuing fetal tissue research at the National Institutes of Health, the Catholic Bishops will speak out to support those efforts. When the current administration, or any administration, enacts policies that are contrary to Scripture, such as the forcible separation of young children from their parents, we will oppose those efforts. Any attempt to silence the Catholic Bishops by those on the "right" or "left" will not succeed but reflects an idolatrous devotion to political party and ideology which is contrary to the Gospel.

For a number of years now the Vitae Foundation has hosted speakers who are more known for being political conservatives than for their pro-life activism. Many of those speakers hold some positions which are difficult to reconcile with the teachings of the Bible as interpreted in the Catholic Church. Some of them were convicted felons.

This year, while I did not attend the dinner as you selected a speaker who wrote a book in favor of "internment camps," we still made a financial contribution and did not discourage Catholics from attending.

The Vitae Foundation specializes in developing market research-based messages to promote the pro-life movement. In cities across Missouri and other parts of the nation, Vitae Foundation sponsors annual events with noteworthy speakers.

On Tuesday, Sept. 24, for example, Trey Gowdy will be Kansas City's annual event speaker. Candace Owens will be speaking at a Vitae Foundation event in St. Charles, Missouri, in November.

After receiving Bp. Rice's letter, the Vitae Foundation issued the following statement:

The Vitae Foundation contracted with Premier Speakers Bureau to have Michelle Malkin speak at its Annual Pro-Life Event in Springfield, Missouri on Tuesday, August 20, 2019. During her remarks about the Culture of Life and how "certain Catholic institutions have been hijacked by radical groups," she mentioned the Catholic Bishops.

The views expressed by Malkin were not those of the Vitae Foundation.

In the future, we will work closely with all speaker's bureaus to ensure that comments against the Catholic Church, including the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, will not be welcomed or tolerated.

In a sense, even Malkin bowed the knee. Notice in the Breitbart interview that she carefully avoids naming the pro-life organization and the specific bishop. Perhaps Premier Speakers Bureau who represents her insisted that she not name names. Church Militant contacted her multiple times for a comment, and she did not respond.

Note to Trey Gowdy and Candace Owens: In your remarks for the upcoming Vitae Foundation events — be afraid, be very afraid; and do not make any negative comments about the Catholic Church and its bishops.

The USCCB is nothing but a political entity, firmly in the hands of the Democrats and obviously anti-Trump, e.g. Gregory, Lori, Cupich, McElroy, et al.

Malkin’s brief remarks regarding the USCCB’s active work yo undermine US Sovereignty were very mild in comparison to the truth of the matter.
The Catholic Church has been infiltrated by Leftist Social Justice Warriors, Homosexuals, and Pedophiles. An infiltration decades in the making. They have worked their way into the church’s top “leadership” positions and they are now in control.
Unfortunately for the church, they do not have a Donald Trump to step into the breach.
I believe there will be another schism whereby the perverts take control of the church and true God fearing Catholics are expelled.

The Marxists hate it when exposed for exactly who they are in the Church and are finally excoriated for it.

Michelle is a patriot and a fighting Roman Catholic, who has stuffed truth and accuracy right down the bishops throat, making one of them squeal like a piglet screaming about silencing the messenger.

What a comedian.

Pope Francis Does Not Despise All Americans

Pope Francis Does Not Despise All Americans

After Pope Francis’ embarrassing “It's an honor that Americans attack me”–statement, the Vaticanista Marco Tosatti noticed that Francis does not dislike “all” Americans. One American he does not dislike is Bernie Sanders. Sanders is “not conservative,” “not a traditionalist,” and “leftwing”. Therefore, according to Tosatti, he has all qualities to please the tenant of the penthouse in Santa Marta.

Francis Helped Sander’s Election Campaign

Many have forgotten that Francis received Sanders during the U.S. presidential primaries. Sanders met with Francis on the 16th of April, 2016 at the Casa Santa Marta. Sanders called Francis “one of the extraordinary figures not only of the present world, but of modern world history". Sanders was housed at the Casa Santa Marta with his wife while participating in a meeting promoted by the controversial Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences.

They Share the Same Climate Change Religion

Bernie Sanders shares with Francis Bergoglio the climate change religion. During CNN’s September 4th climate change town halls, Sanders was asked if he would support making population control a key feature of a plan to address, what was called, a climate catastrophe. Sanders replied: “The answer is yes.” He went on ranting against those who criticize abortion, which is the killing of innocent unborn babies. Sanders especially wants to reduce the population – quote – “in poor countries around the world.”

Climate Change Must Be Taken Seriously

This brings us to some climate-change-jokes: How do you persuade Trump to believe climate change is happening? You tell him Obama didn't care about it. Or this one: Two friends were walking down the street when it started raining coins. One of them told the other, "It's climate change". Anyway: Never argue about global warming, it always turns into a heated debate.

MOSES’S OPUSES
SATIRE OF L.J. (MOSES) KESLIN

SATIRE as published in my website link below

Protesters Question Archbishop’s Loyalty To US
Protest LA Archbishop Jose Gomez Residence

Dozens of protesters have shown up at Archbishop of Los Angelus Jose Gomez residence. Many carrying American flags and bearing signs questioning Gomez’s loyalty to the US not Mexico along with many signs demanding equal rights for American citizens in Mexico.
The protest was apparently triggered by the clerics decision to push forward with his predecessors decision the disgraced Cardinal Mahoney by offering amnesty thus citizenship to Mexicans who crossed the border illegally. While thousands of Americans in Mexico suffer under 2nd class citizenship unable to own property and suffer indignitys let alone participate in Mexican elections while living there in Mexico.

A spokeswoman for the group, *Harriet Hildegarden insisted her group consists of Catholics loyal to the church. “We will be protesting at other locations where prominent clergy of the church have sided with the Obama regime”. “Hildy” claims the church is supporting the democrat party which denied God at their convention and declared what she claims is war on the Catholics but would collude with it on “social engineering” issues including “amnesty” . When asked if she may be denied communion for her activities her reply was “Well it’s been known that when that happens quicker when clerics get personally attacked than when some politician challenges the church on the grounds of faith and morals” * Fictional name used not intended to reflect on any so named person living or deceased

At first glance it looks more factual than satirical.

I once had a Bishop go off on me after I sent him an email saying that he should not have directly quoted Karl Marx in one of his public statements.

Little tinhorn dictators these guys. They can’t handle criticism.
