Well, it says "the Gospels say." Only Luke has the story (24.13-35) although Mark 16.12-13 has a brief mention of an appearance to two disciples without any mention of Emmaus.
Luke says Emmaus is 60 stades from Jerusalem (although some manuscripts read 160 stades).
