How liberal are today's young evangelicals?

I’m older than college age, but still millennial — and finding more people in line with my values in Catholic circles more than Evangelical. And indeed Progressivism (the social dimension of it especially) is even stronger among ‘whites’ than others. That is most likely because you move more in Catholic circles more than Evangelical, or have a liberal idea of the latter, or perhaps your values are liberal, for survey after survey have testified to Catholics being far far more liberal than those who are termed Evangelical, though both classes see more and more compromise.

Thus if more and more Catholics are becoming conservative, then that means the are become more like classic evangelicals.

In any case, papal teaching is that "the one duty of the multitude is to allow themselves to be led, and, like a docile flock, to follow the Pastors." (VEHEMENTER NOS, Encyclical of Pope Pius X promulgated on February 11, 1906) And who elected Pope Francis.

What is an “Evangelical”? That is a sincere question.

So white evangelicals are no longer white Protestants? This is an interesting change over the last 500 years. Have they become evangelical Catholic or evangelical Orthodox now?

It may be that typically in black churches, race trumps doctrine when it comes to elections. But Pew categorizes black Protestants as only making up 6% of evangelicals , while the criteria of Barna would make it even less.

I still don’t understand how any intelligent person with reading comprehension can read the Bible and still follow catholicism. It flies in the face of reason.

I never heard of Tony Campolo, so I looked him up.. He’s known for being a Huge Lefty. Bill Clinton’s spiritual advisor and all that. LOL.

I'd say as an objective observer that he is an abject failure as a "spiritual advisor"!

Well, the devil seeks to kill, steal and destroy, and in his more subtle means masquerades as an angel of light, purveying a perverted version (in varying degrees) of God's Truth, even using a mixture of much truth along with critical deception, which appeals to the natural man who wants the comfort or religion, obeying much light but will not go all the way to The Light given to those of broken hearts and contrite spirits dran by the Redeemer.

May we not lose the humility of heart and dependence on the Lord Jesus to save that we had in regenerate conversion with its profound basic effects in heart and light. And also make our consecration of obedience commensurate with the illumination of His word and the revelation of what God would have us to, which He gives to those who obey what they do know they should do.

There is no comparison between a typical 33yo today and even 25 years ago—let alone 250 years ago.
