[Catholic Caucus] Where Bergoglio Buried His Communist Mentor
I have met many Marxists in my life who are good people, so I dont feel offended, Pope Francis has said in response to the charge that he is a communist. As Ive reported before but bears repeating in this context, Pope Francis grew up in socialist Argentina, an experience seared in his mind:
He told the Latin American journalists Javier Camara and Sebastian Pfaffen that as a young man he read books of the Communist Party that my boss in the laboratory gave me and that there was a period where I would wait anxiously for the newspaper La Vanguardia, which was not allowed to be sold with the other newspapers and was brought to us by the socialist militants.

Had John Paul II been given such a grotesque cross, he might have broken it over his knee. Not Pope Francis. He happily accepted the hammer-and-sickle cross, telling the press on the plane ride back to Rome that I understand this work and that for me it wasnt an offense. After the visit, Morales gushed, I feel like now I have a Pope. I didnt feel that before.

[No comment on content or topic because this is Catholic caucus and I’m not Catholic, but it seems odd an American Spectator article would be something that fell in to the category].
[Just an observation].
Be well.

"...I have met many Marxists in my life who are good people, so I dont feel offended, Pope Francis has said in response to the charge that he is a communist..." Good Marxists. Hm. Good Marxists. The beliefs of Marxists have resulted in hundreds of millions of deaths.
I took a hands-off approach to the Catholic church (as a former Catholic) because I know there are many good people and good clergy there, even if you disagree with their doctrine.
But a Pope who accepts the blood-soaked mantle of "Marxist" is no man of God.

It Pope stupid? Does Pope not know what death and destruction Marxists have visited upon their subjects? Does he not know that in each socialist system there must be an enforcement arm that makes the wealthy divest their property? Crony capitalism is bad enough, but cronyism among the party apparatchiks is legendary!
This Pope is a dope!

I think he is worse and more damaging than a dope would be.
He is worse.

Under Pope Francis we have seen the ultimate debasement of Catholicism that began with the “Liberation Theology” taught by the Maryknoll Fathers in Central and South America in the 1960’s. When they tried to recruit me to me and many others to join their order at a college run by the Society of the Precious Blood (C.PP.S.), which also had priests and sisters in South American...but the C.PP.S were NOT spreading Liberation Theology.

We should openly question whether this man was duly elected as Pope and we should feel free to refer to him as “Mr. Francis,” “Mr. Bergoglio” or the like.
