Todd Bentley’s Alleged Homosexuality and Abuse Exposed
pulpitandpen.org ^ | AUG 23, 2019 | staff

In news that surprises few who have followed the sheer depravity of this man – both violent and sexual – this will not be a big surprise, but it is news. Todd Bentley is a major charismatic prophet with the New Apostolic Reformation and has a colossal ministry (especially overseas). He’s also famous from cheating on his wife during the entirety of the famous “Lakeland Revival” and doing supposed miracles by kicking and punching people. After his fall from grace due to his substance abuse and extramarital affairs, he was “restored to ministry” by the biggest names in Charismatic evangelicalism.

Todd Bentley is the hyper-charismatic faith healer who claims to have raised multiple people from the dead and claims he heals people, yet with zero evidence of such healings. He has been involved in sex scandals as long as he’s been known in the charismatic world who fell from ministry and was subsequently restored by Rick Joyner.

A man closely involved in Bentley’s ministry by the name of Stephen Powell has come forward with allegations of homosexual activity and sexual abuse at the hands of Todd Bentley. If these allegations are true, and Todd Bentley has been acting sexually inappropriate with underage teens, then the authorities should be involved in this.

“Tatted up ‘man of god’ indeed! LOL”

I’ve got no problem with any tattooed man or woman coming to Christ and living for Him.

I’ve witnessed a great many such souls follow Christ in baptism.

But a Preacher?

Your body is supposed to be a living sacrifice.
Bentley is trying to play to his snake-charming/motorcycle gang type audience.

We may disagree on this, but tattoos IMO are rebellious and a sign of barbarism.

“But a Preacher?”

Yes.

“Your body is supposed to be a living sacrifice.”

Our obedient lives of service are a living sacrifice.

“Bentley is trying to play to his snake-charming/motorcycle gang type audience.”

I don’t know this man, so I can’t speak about him in particular.

... but no better place for motorcycle gang types to be than at the foot of the cross.

“We may disagree on this, but tattoos IMO are rebellious and a sign of barbarism.”

I think that was true for many in our generation. Culturally, to younger generations, it is normal to have a tattoo. Or piercing. Or both.

Every one I asked, “tell me about your tattoo” has shared a story of meaning. Not rebellion.

Will we reach this generation with the Gospel of Grace? Or condemn them for the external?

I watch many, many, many finally turn to Christ alone for eternal life and follow Him in baptism to proclaim how He has changed their lives.

It is humbling and encouraging to watch their public stories unfold for the world to see - tattooed, or pierced, or both, or people who had substance issues, or served in prison - who all were found by Him... and usually God used a friend at work to invite them to church.

Just sharing what I’ve witnessed first hand.

Oh they might still be around but they lose their salt. Take Jimmah Swaggart. He’s still at it but a shell of his former self. Most of what he do is smoke and mirror to make you think the church is full when it is not. This is why you stick to the One True Church, the one Jesus said “The gates of hell will not prevail”

That is absurd. If a semi-Protestant charlatan warrant one leaving anything that is not RC, then you should talk to the RCs here who hold pope Francis to be a charlatan pope. And I would rather a person listen to Swaggart than Bergoglio. And Rome also has its ongoing sex scandals.

Regardless, the only one true church is the body of Christ, (Colossians 1:18) to which He is married, (Ephesians 5:25) the "household of faith," (Galatians 6:10) for it uniquely only and always consists 100% of true believers, and which spiritual body of Christ is what the Spirit baptizes ever believer into, (1Co. 12:13) while organic fellowships in which they express their faith inevitably become admixtures of wheat and tares, with Catholicism and liberal Protestantism being mostly the latter.

The degree that a church retains and preaches the convicting gospel of grace, of salvation by grave thru heart-purifying, justifying faith, then they are part of the church which the Lord promised would overcome the gates of Hell, that being

In contrast, your false church has sadly become as the gates of Hell for multitudes, with her distinctive Catholic teachings that are not manifest in the only wholly inspired substantive authoritative record of what the NT church believed (including how they understood the OT and gospels), which is Scripture, especially Acts thru Revelation.

I was not in the mood to try and make a definitive list. ALL of the prosperity gospel deceivers would make such a list, as well as men like Creflo Dollar. The current generation I have not followed up on, but I recognize the spirit of antichrist in fools like Andy Stanley. That must break Charles Stanley’s heart to see his son so far from The Gospel of Grace.

And the belief that Peter was the rock of Mt. 16:18, and thus that the church looked to Peter as the first of a line of infallible popes reigning supreme over the church (esp. from Rome) is not what we see manifest in the record of the NT church (and which even Catholic researchers, among others, provide testimony against , and is contrary to it. In contrast to Peter, that the LORD Jesus is the Rock (“petra”) or "stone" (“lithos,” and which denotes a large rock in Mk. 16:4) upon which the church is built is one of the most abundantly confirmed doctrines in the Bible (petra: Rm. 9:33; 1Cor. 10:4; 1Pet. 2:8; cf. Lk. 6:48; 1Cor. 3:11; lithos: Mat. 21:42; Mk.12:10-11; Lk. 20:17-18; Act. 4:11; Rm. 9:33; Eph. 2:20; cf. Dt. 32:4, Is. 28:16) including by Peter himself. (1Pt. 2:4-8) Rome's current catechism attempts to have Peter himself as the rock as well, but also affirms: “On the rock of this faith confessed by St Peter, Christ build his Church,” (pt. 1, sec. 2, cp. 2, para. 424) which understanding some of the so-called “church fathers” concur with.)

When someone goes looking for an Org or Institutional home, satan will sugar coat one for them and shuttle them away from Grace to works. You can see it when you have spiritual eyes and ears. But to the natural man, well not so much.

Whom does The Word of God say is the Apostle to the Gentiles and whom to the Jews? Founding an ‘other religion’ on such a bold contradiction to what God tells us reminds me of the strategy used in the Gardrn against Eve.

Imagining a conversation between Jesus and a talking amphibian idol and quoting it as if the LORD said it, could reasonably be considered by Christians to be profane, blasphemous, impious, sinful, irreverent, irreligious, godless, ungodly, unholy, and disrespectful.

Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

“Imagining a conversation between Jesus and a talking amphibian idol”

It’s a Catholic thing.

Rome imagines all kinds of things... Mary appearing to children to contradict Scripture and teach idolatry... Mary hearing prayers... Statues of Mary.

I’m doing my best to be culturally sensitive on this thread!
