I have visited quite a few places over the years. Some places I loved, and some places I did not like at all. When I didn’t like a place, I was happy to leave it and go back to where I came from.
I can’t understand why this is so controversial! :-)
But then, I am generally regarded as sane.
Biblical Christianity is the bedrock upon which our Constitution was founded. With the morals taught and promoted by our Christian churches, our nation would quickly cease to exist.
And beyond all that their is NOTHING in the Constitution that forbids a religious person from having an opinion and stating it.
Where in the Constitution does it reference Jesus?
Where in the Constitution does it reference Jesus?
HA HA HA, yeah mine must be revised standard
The Constitution does not have to mention Jesus to be built on the foundation of Christianity.
Read the writings of the Founding Fathers. Our Constitution was written for an upright and moral people. It is impossible to govern an immoral people.
The only true morality is via Judeo-Christian values. Western civilization is built on that Judeo-Christian foundation.
Without Christianity the USA would not have come into existence. And without a resurgence of Christianity the USA will not continue in existence.
ALL of our problems are due to veering away from our Judeo-Christian roots. Every last one of them.
If Christianity is the answer to ALL a nation's problems, why did Rome's collapse accelerate as it became more Christian?
“If Christianity is the answer to ALL a nation’s problems, why did Rome’s collapse accelerate as it became more Christian?”
Because then as now, Christianity became linked to political power, and people “converted” to gain political power. Heck, many of the bishops were not Christians.
Many of the Founders were not particularly Christian, but they relied on a moral foundation Christians promote. Honesty, for example. If one travels the world, you will find many cultures reject honesty. Treating women well is not a peculiarly Christian value, but it is one that has made life in America much better for women than life in Afghanistan.
They had the same issues as we do now. The leadership was totally corrupt. Even if they claimed to be Christian they were not as they did not exhibit the values and ideals of Christianity. You cannot be corrupt and be a Christian.
For example, the Kennedy's claimed to be Christian yet their lives bore no witness to it.
By the time Rome became more Christian they were so far down the path to destruction that it could not be stopped. The USA's only hope as a nation is to return to her Christian roots before it is too late.
Rome had two huge problems when it came to sustaining itself.
1. Never solved the succession problem. With every change of emperor the state either had a destructive civil war or teetered on it.
2. Taxation - So onerous that people gave up citizenship & civic duties like soldiering to reduce their taxes.
In other words, Rome was more moral and less corrupt when it was a Republic and full on pagan.
Rome was decaying much faster when it was full on pagan. They started with a good idea but because they did not have a firm foundation (Christianity) to build upon they started decaying immediately. That rate of decay was ever increasing and was only able to be slowed slightly when Romans started becoming Christians.
Immediately? Rome was founded in 753 BCE. So, at the height of their power they had been around almost 1000 years.
