Pastor out at famed Riverside Church after sex toy shopping spree
New York Post ^ | June 12, 2019 | Kevin Fasick, Ebony Bowden and Bruce Golding

The reason for her ouster is far more stimulating than any sermon this pastor could have delivered.

The Rev. Dr. Amy Butler, the first woman to lead Manhattan’s famed Riverside Church, lost her lofty post amid complaints that she brought ministers and a congregant on a sex toy shopping spree and then gave one of them an unwanted vibrator as a birthday gift, The Post has learned.

On May 15, Butler allegedly took two Riverside assistant ministers and a female congregant to a sex shop in Minneapolis called the Smitten Kitten, during a religious conference, according to sources familiar with the out-of-town shopping excursion.

Agreed- any faith based institution worth their principles ought to know that they should give Caesar what is Caesar’s and God what is God’s.

But since it is the way it is, golly, even NAMBLA is a 501c nonprofit….

Amy K. Butler Takes On New Challenges at New York City’s Riverside Church
The Wall Street Journal ^ | April 3, 2015 | Melanie Grayce West
Posted by Gamecock

Riverside, a liberal Protestant church known for its history of social-justice advocacy, has hosted world leaders such as Nelson Mandela,Martin Luther King Jr., Desmond Tutu and Bill Clinton.
“I know that this church is begging for new life,” said Dr. Butler, 45 years old. “That process of resurrection involves some dying. This is what we believe in our Christian tradition.”
One-on-one, Dr. Butler is witty and self-deprecating, and her sermons tend to be about 10 minutes shorter than those of her predecessors, congregants say.

Every molecule of anything associated with NAMBLA should be incinerated at the temperature of the surface of the sun.

Riverside Church is a Baptist church that was founded by J.D. Rockefeller, believe it or not. It’s a huge neo-Gothic building (with great bells!) located near Columbia University on the Upper West Side (Morningside Heights area).

I don’t know where they went wrong, but ever since the 1960s and possibly before they have had raving leftists running the show. I grew up near there and I did like the bells, though!

Next step is to write a book about how she left “religion” because the people there were “too narrow-minded”. It will be a New York Times bestseller. She will then do the talk show circuit, still wearing a collar and still proclaiming that her version of the Bible is the correct one.

I only go to church for weddings, christenings and funerals. I can pray and thank the good Lord for His blessings from home. Watching 700 Club and Joyce Meyers is my church time. BTW.. https://www1.cbn.com/tv/cbn-news is the most informative news out there.

Betting my prayer rug that she is a “L”. They become “pastors” to change the message of Christianity into a lesbian religion to alleviate their guilt over being perverts.

Yep. And trolling hard for a little “business” trip hanky panky with a suggestive trip to a sex shop during an out of town conference. I wonder if the woman/women she was hitting on where hetero? lol.
