Heavenly Father, as we approach the anniversary of the French Revolution on Bastille Day this weekend, we lift up France and all the nations of Europe as we continue to intercede for our own. Help us to recover our shared histories and bonds of Christendom.

Although the Cathedral of Notre Dame was scorched in flames this past spring, we pray that the flames signify not that of destruction -- but rather fires of REVIVAL set to permanently disperse the darkness of unbelief ushered in by those fateful days in Paris in 1789. The unbelief, which undoubtedly laid the groundwork for the advance of antichrist ideologies of Bolshevism and Nazism, and the century and a half of brutal world wars that was to follow.

The West may lie in spiritual ruins, but we praise You LORD, for the work of restoration. As Notre Dame is rebuilt physically, we pray you rebuild our civilization spiritually! We pray to recover the very faith, which made monuments like Notre Dame possible. We pray for bursts of inspiration like that which you granted the great artists, musicians, saints, and thinkers of the past to glorify You in all that they sought to build and leave behind during their short stay on earth. As we rediscover the treasures of the past, may we begin the work of renewing our culture in the present age. Amen.
