“Did you follow them around?”

Yes; I did. We had a blast.

Why wait for someone to invent stuff in the second century? Paul said, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;”. He didn’t say to “go pick one”. If choosing between Paul and Tertullian, I’m gonna choose Paul — long before the second century.

I don’t normally comment on these crazy useless threads. However, this statement is absolutely insane. The holy spirit does not elevate some over others within believers in Christ. Going to some self appointed elevated privilege believer for forgiveness is completely wrong.

Jesus didn't say "if anyone who 'has the Holy Spirit' forgives the sins of any," he said "if you forgive the sins of any". He was addressing specifically the Apostles, not believers generally.

You are quoting a passage in John 20. I don't know if its reference to "disciples" is meant to mean "apostles" only.

I suggest you read the book of Acts and see that the Holy Spirit fell on ALL believers in the Upper Room - about 120. Read Pauls epistles and you will see that the Holy Spirit fills the gentiles he preaches to.

There is no "Holy Spirit major" and "Holy Spirit minor."

The scripture tells us that the Holy Spirit possesses ALL Believers.

From a Catholic >>>> "We first receive the Holy Spirit in Baptism, and in Confirmation the gifts of the Holy Spirit are strengthened. The Catechism says:"The reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace." For "by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed."

And there is the problem. You think these are just stories and don’t apply to you.

Do you know what the new covenant is? The old ways that you cling to were destroyed.

The temple was destroyed.

The curtain separating us from God was ripped from the top.

The old sacrificial system was destroyed.

The priestly system was destroyed.

The RC church rebuilt the old covenant that God destroyed.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN? WHAT DOES The BIBLE SAY ABOUT BEING BORN AGAIN?

Jer_31:33 “But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day,” says the LORD. “I will put My instructions deep within them, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be My people.
