This wasn’t as bad as I expected. I have heard it preached that the women brought loaves for the children and Jesus got them to share.
This at least had Jesus sharing the same five loaves.
Exactly my thought. In fact, Francis was on point - don’t worry about the magic, the salient point was utter trust that God the Father would provide what was needed.
