Until the native traditions surrounding the disposal of Pedro Fernandes Sardinha (first Bishop of Brazil, and at least if Pastor is to be trusted a lax sort of fellow) can at least be equalled, you cannot call it a first-rate rebellion. You want us to be eaten by cannibals to prove our worth?

No, I want Bishops who value native traditions at least as much as they value revealed truth to be willingly be eaten by cannibals, in the traditional manner, rather than forcing the natives to follow western-imposed morality.
