I am truly exasperated that Pope Francis is perverting the Catechism. My Bishop knows I will not teach Francis’ deviations.
Francis’ change to JPII’s Catechism is irrelevant. The JPII Catechism already belongs on The Index. Oh, that’s right “Saint” Paul VI abolished it in 1966!
For me, the money line:
As Joseph Ratzinger pointed out some decades ago, hell is already breaking into this world and annexing portions of it, as people increasingly abandon the protection of the Holy Cross, the name of Jesus, the sacraments and sacramentals, the sacred liturgy. We might say that Satan has established colonial governors in, just to name three of his colonies, the United Nations, the European Union, and the Democratic Party.
That is a special case, and cannot, I think, be used as you have used it to justify the death penalty per se.
Mind you, I do NOT believe the death penalty is intrinsically evil, immoral or "inadmissible" as Francis says.
Francis is abrogating the teaching of the OT and NT on this subject. The just and limited use of Capital Punishment is consistently supported by all 266 previous popes and 2,000 years of Catholic Teaching based on those Scriptures.
Besides changing the catechism, he has changed the Pater Noster and the Gloria.
After breaking canon law for years by washing women's and non-Catholics' feet on Holy Thursday, even in his first year of the papacy, he finally changed the law to his own liking.
Francis is a dictator pope in all the worst ways.
I predict his next act will be him changing the Nicene Creed to exclude, "{I believe in) one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church". It's apparent he doesn't.
I’m in full concurrence with your post, including the “Saint”, emphasis on the quotes.
I have a list of recommended changes.
... a LONG list.
Then pass it on to Jorge. He and his little "god of surprises" love "changes".
It’s heresy; a Pope cannot teach heresy. Therefore, Frankie isn’t Pope.
I figured you would be ebb.
I’m guessing that in the past when the Popes ordered or allowed the death penalty it was ok. For example the many reformers such as Jan Hus that were burned at the stake for heresy against church doctrine were the victims of simple paperwork errors?
Very weak conclusion there. But perhaps you were joking?
Or are you unaware that a Pope in his own right is not infallible?
Weak conclusion? Are you saying that a non-Catholic can not only be the visible head of the Catholic Church, but also teach heresy to the universal Church?
And with your spirit
I dont know Jorge.
If he had posted this article, then Id inform him.
...
Maybe he is more like the Bereans.
No. I’m saying that Popes are not infallible in everything they say. Francis is quite fallible in some of his teaching. Where do you get ‘A pope cannot teach heresy”?
I agree they shouldn’t, but I’m unaware if any auto=excommunid=cation when they do. Might even not be a bad idea.
You should read up on St Robert Bellarmine, Doctor of the Church, regarding the Popes and heresy:
