Saying that someone who has never been a Prefect of a Vatican dicastery, or held any other job in the Vatican, is “one of the most qualified cardinals for pope” is a leap. It’s sort of like saying that someone whose highest office is governor of a small state is “one of the most qualified” to be President. Someone who has been a Cabinet officer or Senator is better-qualified on paper ... not necessarily better, just better qualified.
FN was supporting Pope Francis.
In other words, we were seeing the liberal, dark side of FN.
