Rise in anti-Semitism making it dangerous to display religious symbol
Jewish men and boys in Germany should think twice about wearing skullcaps in public, Germanys top official against anti-Semitism said Saturday.
Felix Klein, Federal Government Commissioner for Jewish Life in Germany and the Fight against Anti-Semitism, said he wouldnt advise Jews to wear skullcaps in parts of the country.
My opinion has unfortunately changed compared with what it used to be on the matter, Klein said in an interview with the Funke newspaper group. I cannot recommend to Jews that they wear the skullcap at all times everywhere in Germany.
The Associated Press said he did not elaborate on what places and times might be risky.
Klein blamed increasing social disinhibition and brutality, according to the Times of Israel.
Government statistics released earlier this month showed that the number of anti-Semitic and anti-foreigner incidents rose in Germany last year, despite an overall drop in politically motivated crimes.

1939 called...
How about a Colt and a skullcap?
No, you wear it and have people laying in wait to pounce on anyone that attacks you for wearing it.
Presumably these (words unable to use on a family site) in Germany have also warned Muslim women against wearing their hijabs out in public, fearing non-muslim harassment, as well.
Germans starting this crap again?
That’s akin to telling muslims to quit wearing the hijab, and that will never happen.
It isn’t the Germans. It is Merkle’s ‘refugees’
Then Germans/Merkel should do something about this crap. Do they put any restrctions on the muzzies?
Maybe we should all wear kippot in solidarity with the jewish people? or is that cultural appropriation?
Could be an interesting thing - more support than appropriation.
Such a suggestion night get you arrested for a hate crime in Europe.
