We are entering the criminalization stage. Exorbitant fines have already been levied against small Christian businesses for refusing to service same-sex weddings, and I would not be surprised if some states refused to recognize marriage licenses signed by the clergy of churches that don't support same-sex marriage. States might also deny accreditation to schools that don't go along with the homosexual agenda.
At the personal level, we are already hearing stories of Christians being forced out of certain academic programs or professions because of their beliefs.
I am absolutely convinced that the huge emphasis now being placed on LGBTQ issues is because the left has realized that those issues can be used as a wedge to separate Christians from the rest of society. Many fringe or non-Christians might be skeptical of the LGBTQ movement, even opposed to it, but they don't have the deep moral convictions to openly oppose it, much less risk their careers over it.

One thing we need to do is to stop all cooperation with the state in matters of marriage registration. The institution of marriage should not have anything to do with what the state imagines it to be.
