Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem





Our Father in Heaven,
We Praise Your Holy Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Worship,
For You Alone Are The One True God.
Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent,
Teach us To Be Open to Opportunities,
And Teach Us Listen to Your Voice.
You Know Us Inside and Out,
And We Can Hide Nothing From You.
Thank You For the Counselors that You place in our lives
Teach us to discern which ones are good, and which ones are evil.

We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According to Your Will and Promise.
We Pray For The Leaders and People of Our Beloved USA,
that They Will Look to You for the Protection
and Prosperity of our Nation.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem






A musician friend and I were discussing a certain pop star who has mostly stayed out of politics (Thank Goodness!) and has achieved phenomenal popularity in the past few years.

"Her style of music is not my favorite," I said, "But I love the fact that she writes her own songs, and manages her own business, and has become successful WITHOUT being part of 'The Machine""

"Oh, I can't STAND her!" said the other. "SHE OWNS EIGHT HOUSES!"

Well, how does one respond to THAT? I just said that She's an American who works hard and EARNED them. What more could I add in the face of such irrational jealousy?

Envy and Jealousy are derived from covetousness, and are extremely destructive emotions. Shakespeare call it "The Green-Eyed Monster". It has the potential of becoming MURDER, another sin forbidden by the Ten Commandments. It also is the foundation for one of the most treacherous political theories ever espoused...Socialism.

Saul's behavior becomes more and more psychotic as his jealousy and fear increase. First, he perceives himself to have been humiliated on the battlefield by David. The songs of the women, meant to praise them both, is interpreted as an insult. Then his beloved son Jonathan pledges undying friendship to David (whom Saul now considers an enemy!). Then David refuses an arranged marriage with Saul's eldest daughter, thus foiling a plan to gain control of the situation.

The worst insult of all is that Saul can perceive that the Lord is with David, but not with himself. This could have been easily remedied with repentance, confession, and a change of heart, what the Greeks called "Metanoya", but Saul would have none of it. He wanted God to bless him on HIS terms, or not at all. The Hebrew Scriptures have many instances of "Metanoya", so it is not just a "New Testament Concept". There are even examples of Pagan Kings (such as Nebuchadnezzar) who repented of their sins and were restored.

But Saul was not to choose this road, and his decline is a sad thing to observe.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

And Saul said to David, Behold my elder daughter Merab, her will I give thee to wife: only be thou valiant for me, and fight the LORD's battles. For Saul said, Let not mine hand be upon him, but let the hand of the Philistines be upon him.

And David said unto Saul, Who am I? and what is my life, or my father's family in Israel, that I should be son in law to the king?

But it came to pass at the time when Merab Saul's daughter should have been given to David, that she was given unto Adriel the Meholathite to wife.

And Michal Saul's daughter loved David: and they told Saul, and the thing pleased him.

And Saul said, I will give him her, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. Wherefore Saul said to David, Thou shalt this day be my son in law in the one of the twain.

And Saul commanded his servants, saying, Commune with David secretly, and say, Behold, the king hath delight in thee, and all his servants love thee: now therefore be the king's son in law.

And Saul's servants spake those words in the ears of David. And David said, Seemeth it to you a light thing to be a king's son in law, seeing that I am a poor man, and lightly esteemed?

And the servants of Saul told him, saying, On this manner spake David.

And Saul said, Thus shall ye say to David, The king desireth not any dowry, but an hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged of the king's enemies. But Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines.

And when his servants told David these words, it pleased David well to be the king's son in law: and the days were not expired.

Wherefore David arose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred men; and David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full tale to the king, that he might be the king's son in law. And Saul gave him Michal his daughter to wife.

And Saul saw and knew that the LORD was with David, and that Michal Saul's daughter loved him.

And Saul was yet the more afraid of David; and Saul became David's enemy continually.

Then the princes of the Philistines went forth: and it came to pass, after they went forth, that David behaved himself more wisely than all the servants of Saul; so that his name was much set by.

They are Orthodox and Catholic, Protestant and Evangelical, Coptic, Pentecostal, and Baptist. To the persecutors, we are all "Nazarenes."
