I referred to the catholic faith, not just strictly the Roman Catholic persuation. I say this with all my heart, please learn the difference. This has been going on since pre-Constantine when catholics were performing this structure meeting in patrician's/patriarch's homes who had the Faith, reciting the Word then breaking bread and wine. Freely attack "ex cathedra" and everything concerning that regarding Papal "primacy" which is especially convoluted in the Industrial/Information Age when that was "officially enshrined.

I will say Apostolic succession is a real (And COMMANDED by Christ) thing based on condemning heretics/arising cults that tried to infiltrate the Word through a structure with influence. Btw, the Roman Catholics were the defenders of the Faith sorry to say in this structure for a long time. I will concede they began to go off the deep end and exchanged defense against the Faith with political power and spiritual manipulation. Take care.

As a former Catholic, of the Roman variety, former altar boy, and confirmed, I do know the difference.

I also know I never heard the Gospel of Grace once, until I decided in college to read the Scriptures myself. I checked a bible out of them university library and read. I came to saving faith in Christ.

“This has been going on since pre-Constantine when catholics were performing this structure meeting in patrician’s/patriarch’s homes ...”

But you have provided no evidence I requested, so your statement is really an assertion.

“I will say Apostolic succession is a real (And COMMANDED by Christ) thing based on condemning heretics/arising cults”

Then I would expect you will be able to provide chapter and verse? But you will not be able to, based on my study.

I wish blessings to you.

This might seem like an odd thing to say because many Catholics who leave the Church to join an Evangelical congregation often mention the “dead” character of Catholic worship as one of their main reasons for leaving. It’s true that a shoddy execution of the liturgy, combined with content-free homilies, and a lack of vibrant fellowship, can make a parish seem lifeless.

I've been to several different friends' so-called 'worship' services. Watermark, Baptist, non-affiliated. None of them seemed like church - they were all closer to a rock concert, using just Jesus songs. There might have been a bit of some sort of homily, but there's no structure. There's some guy up there talking, and a bunch of singing.

Unfortunately, even a lot of Catholic churches have turned into this - they have a full band and there's not a sense of reverence or respect for the church as hallowed ground.

The worst thing is the ONLY real church in the DFW area is way out in Irving, so it's a near hour drive to go to the Tridentine Mass. Not sure how the new Bishop Burns feels about the Latin Mass, but my Uncle is pretty high up in the FSSP, and he says they don't have much people to really expand, even if the local bishop allows it.

I agree — the evangelical seem to focus too much on the emotional manipulation

s. But I don’t see that elaborate ritual benefits us more `

I do not like being manipulated. With ritual (your use of *elaborate* is manipulative) you at least know what you’re getting.
