I always wonder (and doubt) if the IRA could ever return, given that Ireland has sold itself as a suburb of Brussels, and its culture has simply become another washed-out, post-modern secular paved parking lot.

The IRA political party Sinn Fein has taken over northern ireland politically. They are the political party with a majority. The north was gerrymandered a few years ago and its all over. The only things stopping Sinn Fein from absolute rule is that stormont is disfunctional since power sharing and local government has collapsed.
