Secondly, the Bible is not a catalog of verses to grab willy-nilly when we want to browbeat someone into agreeing with us. Both legalistic and liberal Christians are often guilty of doing that. Okay, a proof-text is sometimes necessary, but it should never be taken out of its immediate context, nor out of the context of the entire Bible. Nor should it be used without careful consideration of the historical background against which the verse is set; neither should it be applied without checking the correctness of the translation being quoted.

Support of Trump’s early move to cut back on immigration from mostly Muslim countries drew the ire of people I love dearly — Are we not to open our arms to one and all? Are we not to love our neighbors as ourselves? (This from those who find conservatives reprehensible.) But are these not biblical mandates? Yes, but in a sense limited by context.

Therefore we cannot take the Golden Rule, which speaks of individual attitudes and behaviors, and apply it to national policy. How do we know it is for individuals only?

1. Jesus was speaking in this sermon to a crowd made up of Jews, Samaritans, and Roman soldiers -– a group of different nationalities. He wasn’t speaking to Pontius Pilate or to the Pharisees, the political leaders of the time.

2. Nations don’t “love.” They can make policies that are fair, but that is different. Jesus didn’t say, “Make nice laws.” Nor did he demand that a nation allow some people to disobey the laws of the land.

We can’t ignore the dangers of groups that scream, “Death to America!” We are not commanded to do so. From the Tower of Babel on, God has organized the world into separate nations. The prophecies of Revelation paint a terrifying picture of what a one-world, no-borders government would look like. The 20th century showed us a glimpse of that with both Stalin and Hitler.

Anyone one who claims to be a Christian and supports abortion is a liar.

Well Said (In its entirety). Your analysis is complete.

The most accurate of Jesus's advice and teaching is aimed at how to deal with Rome.

Do a news search on Google, and you will see at least two editorials a day condemning Christians who support Trump. The liberal church will become one of the worst persecutors of real Christians in a couple years.

Several good IT-type checkpoints, even if the foolishness of wrong interpretations was not involved. And they are. Great job of critiquing sensibly!

The first thing to do when the leftist anti-Christians tell Christians what a “good Christian” should do is tell them to Shut Up about things they don’t understand. It’s not their place to tell us what we should or shouldn’t do as Christians. They don’t have that right; not even if they were a Christian themselves which they aren’t.

This is what happens when decades of “Jesus is your lover” type of preaching occurs. This kind of preaching and music has weakened the church globally
Instead of fear of the Lord, we have love, love, love, no matter what.
Makes me sick, I can’t imagine how a perfect Holy God feels about it.

Unfortunately, this is what happens when you "fulfill" (abolish) the Laws of G-d spoken directly by Him at Mt. Sinai merely on the authority of the person/organization/movement that claims the power to do so.

Prior to chrstianity we had a statutory relationship with G-d. You see what happens when you try to replace that with something else? There was a set of very specific laws and valid authorities empowered to interpret and administer them. But no, we had to replace that with "love."

This is also what happens when you attack the conservatives of the religion you claim to be replacing as the ultimate evil (Parashim; ie, Pharisees). You see what happens when you attack conservatives while trying to replace them with "conservatives" of your own? The very fact that you claim to replace the Old Order proves in and of itself that you are no conservative.

So-called "conservative" chrstians think it's absolutely ridiculous and intolerable that it is forbidden for Jews to count floor tiles on Shabbat. Oh, really? The point was to obey all the Laws of G-d, in small as well as large things. To accuse them of trying to "work their way into Heaven" when you replace their laws with others of your own and then proceed to do the exact same thing is hypocritical to the utmost.

Some chrstians do indeed try to "work their way into Heaven," while others are antinomians who believe salvation is through a legal loophole (though they continue to act as if they believe they were working their way into Heaven). For Jews obedience to Divine Commands is a goal in and of itself. Why is that so unthinkable?

The world we live in today is the result of rejecting and slandering the Pharisees.

PS: Please don't post quotes from the "new testament" in order to "prove" this or that. The "new testament" is only authoritative for people who accept its authority from the get go. I'm sorry some of you have no other sort of argument for what you believe.

Frankfurt School: Higher Criticism. Cultural Marxism. Liberation Theology. Homoerotic Agenda.

All of these have successfully embedded within so-called Christian denominations, congregations, seminaries, and universities.

I would not send a child to any of those schools now.

Perhaps Hillsdale, or Grove City; maybe one or two others.

Fuller? Wheaton? Abominations.
