some mysteries are fine some are ok but... it is a crying shame to visit a college founded by sisters and learn that they only have 3 or 4 left, all I think over 80, and (a couple years ago when I checked there) their residences or retirement funds were in trouble
I would think that SOME young folks would want to become priests brothers or nuns
anyways, no need to explain I hear a lot about this all the time and of course also read the articles, reports....

Some do. I ‘ve been teaching for nearly 20 years and have about a half-dozen former students who are priests and another 10 or so in seminary and another 10 or so in convents.
Most of the orders have been walking dead for a good 35 years
Likewise for the priests. The number ordained have been two or three for several years, but in a couple of years we will be back up to six or seven ordinands.
