In the early to mid 90's I listened to a show on Sunday night on KKLA (99.5 FM), a Christian radio station in LA, that was like The Prairie Home Companion, only decidedly Christian.
Does anyone remember or know what this show was? I'm sure it was syndicated and broadcast in markets across the country.
The Sunday night lineup (25 years ago now) included the White Horse Inn Lutheran apologetics program and this Prairie Home Companion like show.
Does anyone remember or know the name of this show?
Yes, it ran into the early 2000’s, at least until 2004 in my area.
Is this what you’re looking for? Adventures in Odyssey, Whit’s End
The show I mentioned sort of did have a Prairie Home Companion esq flavor to it, (especially when the old guy named Witt narrated it echoing Garrison Keillor) and it was more like an old time radio show where they make their own sound effects in studio.
Thanks, guys.
But it wasn’t Whitt’s End.
I used to hear that, too. It was more a kids ministry show.
This show I’m asking about wasn’t geared for kids. And I am pretty sure it wasn’t a Focus on the Family show.
In my initial post I almost mentioned it was kind of like Whit’s End to describe it.
This one was like a Christian Prairie Home Companion, that’s the best way I can describe it.
Keillor is a raging lib dont thing a ministry was involved just him and his lib pals

White Horse Inn
There was a radio show along those lines with Marlin Maddeaux(sp?) but I recall it being home-based in the DFW area
Anyone recall- Herbert W Armstrong and THE WORLD TOMORROW ?
This poster was looking for a “similar” show.
I saw Prairie Home and although I listened never liked his politics and as far as ministry I said ,dont think so.
He was the Woebegone guy too which was entertaining
It was on right after White Horse Inn (or perhaps right before, 8 and 9 PM Sunday night, as I recall).
I always thought it was from the same Lutheran Ministry but am not sure.
Was it part of the White Horse Inn?
Yes, it was not the Keillor show.
It was a take on it - seemed inspired or influenced by the tone and structure - but part of a radio ministry. It was entertaining but edifying.
Thanks. I will check in to that.
I heard this in Los Angeles, so it couldn’t have been only local but I’ll check it out.
I’m not talking about Keillor’s show.
I remember that.
Mull Singing Convention?
I don’t know. What was that?
I’ll check it out.
More remember sonny boy, Garner Ted Armstrong, and his line of BS:
