Hi everyone! I can't believe I've already made 14 of these!
This week's "Why the New Testament Was Written" vlog focuses on Peter's first epistle (if you couldn't tell by the title). We'll talk about when it was written, why it was written, and to whom it was written (and I say this knowing full well someone's going to comment "Because the Spirit told him to").
Video clocks in at 10:05.
Why John Wrote His Gospel and Epistles
Why Paul Wrote Titus
Why Hebrews Was Written
Why Paul Wrote I Timothy
Why Paul Wrote Philippians
Why Paul Wrote Philemon, Colossians, and Ephesians
Video: Why the Synoptic Gospels Were Written
Why Paul Wrote Romans
Why Paul Wrote I and II Corinthians
Why Paul Wrote the Thessalonian Letters
Why James Was Written
Why Galatians Was Written
This is the official ping list for Depths of Pentecost: Im a Christian blogger who writes weekly Bible lessons. Topics range from Bible studies, apologetics, theology, history, and occasionally current events. Every now and then I upload sermons or classes onto YouTube.
Let me know if youd like to added to the Depths of Pentecost ping list. New posts are up every Saturday, videos every Wednesday.
Just ask Peter
You may just get to meet him one day
Otherwise I’m just guessing but it probably had something to do with Proclaiming the Gospel, Guiding the flock to the Kingdom, and warning about continuing sinful behavior.
Fair enough, but the epistle is addressed to four churches in North Galatia. You're not in the least bit curious as to what was happening at those churches to prompt Peter to send them a message warning them to live peaceful lives and not take up arms? (This coming from the same man who had cut off a guard's ear trying to save Jesus from arrest).
I'm guessing "to compete with the Iphone" isn't what you're looking for.
could you share your education and background, please.

He really should have started with IV Peter.
Better yet, could you share your education and background on your YOutube home page. Its important to know before I invest
the time in the videos.
But I'm also an obsessive autodidact who thrives learning things on his own. I've been teaching Wednesday night Bible classes at my church for almost eight years, have read literally dozens of books on the Bible, and love to research and teach on what I think is an endlessly fascinating topic. I'm also open to discussion and welcome correction if I'm ever off on something. I've written a book myself (currently undergoing publication-to be released early next year) on the Exodus. I keep forgetting to mention that the main source for this series is "The Untold Story of the New Testament" by Frank Viola, and a few others ("Chronicle of the Roman Emperors" has been very helpful). So if that sounds impressive to you, feel free to check out more. Or if not, that's okay, too. ;-)
Whoa, Hoss, that’s an awfully tall horse your sitting on. :-)
This gentleman has information about himself at his website that is easily found. His pedigree is not important, but his words are. Listen to what he has to say, compare it the the Word, and decide for yourself.
Paul may have come with a pedigree, but Peter and the rest were just common men.

Thank you, Philip, you presented information that is new to me.
Thank you. :)
Jesus, a carpenter
David, a shepard
Rehab, a prostitute
Peter, a fisherman
Matthew, tax collector
Oh darn I wish that Holy Spirit was as good of a teacher as man’s university’s. John 14:26.
Teach/preach on and according to 1 Corinthians 14 we will judge accordingly.
Thoroughly enjoy your blog post and am working my way through your videos. I find them extremely informative. One thing I cant find on your website is an archive listing of all your videos. Do I need to search YouTube? Lesson 11, you have recommended
Please add me to your ping list
thank you
It should be in the Videos tab at the top, second over from the left.
Thanks for the kind words. I’m glad you’re getting something out of it...makes all the hard work and research worthwhile! I’ll add you to the list.
