Long past are the days where the clergy was considered to have the highest of education. In any case, “education” has transmogrified into “indoctrination”, and it lives in the Catholic Church as it does in virtually every other discipline.
As one raised a Catholic, sorry, but our Pope is a dope. A very corrupt dope. A very corrupt gay dope.
In the US military, a soldier is obligated to refuse to follow illegal orders issued by an officer. I think the same should apply within the Church, if a bishop tells us to do what is sinful by all of the Church’s traditional teaching, then one should not follow his instructions. Our souls depend upon it.
