A “spirit” is a “person”. A “person” is an individual substance of a rational nature.

The Holy Spirit has absolutely every attribute of a human being except for the outer shell which we call the body...If you analyze every aspect of the words translated into 'person' in the scriptures, the Holy Spirit is clearly a person, as well as the Father...
Perhaps you are trying to claim the Holy Spirit is not a human, and that would be correct...However, Jesus gave up his terrestrial (human) body and exchanged it for a celestial body, as happens to us when we die...Is Jesus no longer a person???
So by your logic, God the Father is not a person either ... possessing the defining attributes of a personal being ... even though there are a huge array of passages in the text of scripture that show God the Father has a mind, a will, has emotions, and interacts with human beings through language.
