Boston Cardinal Sean P. OMalley apologized Monday for the way his office handled a 2015 letter containing allegations against Cardinal Theodore E. McCarrick, the former archbishop of Washington who was removed from the ministry in June and resigned in July after reports that he had sexually assaulted minors and abused seminarians.
OMalleys statement was released Monday evening, more than a month after news outlets reported that Rev. Boniface Ramsey, a priest in New York, penned the letter that raised questions on McCarrick.
The statement tackles the issue of the Catholic Churchs credibility and strikes a more apologetic tone than his first one released in July, which explained the practice that led to Ramseys letter going unseen.
Noting that not everyone will accept that he did not know about the allegations given the way the church has eroded the trust of our people, OMalley said he hopes the church can repair the trust and faith of all Catholics and the wider community by virtue of our actions and accountability in how we respond to this crisis.
McCarricks behavior was an open secret among the church hierarchy, according to media reports, but OMalley said he only learned of the alleged sexual abuse after the stories were published.

First Obama.
Then Brennan.
Now O'Malley
Nobody knows nuthin' 'til they read it in the papers.
He hears the footsteps closing in on him. We’ll watch and see which fellow wolves and hirelings he throws overboard in an attempt to save himself. But ultimately, the sodomite omalley must be the next domino.
Oh, come on.
Wherl the Girl was promoted, just like the whole lot of them.
From the article:
OMalley has the responsibility for evaluating child protection policies and procedures, Rev. Robert Kickham, OMalleys priest secretary, wrote in 2015 in response to Ramsey, adding that the commission does not review individual complaints and cases, historical or current, which fall under the oversight of the local church authorities. Kickham never brought the letter to OMalleys attention, the cardinal said, but [i]n retrospect it is now clear to Fr. Kickham and to me that I should have seen that letter precisely because it made assertions about the behavior of an archbishop in the church.
Noting that not everyone will accept that he did not know about the allegations given the way the church has eroded the trust of our people,
No one with an IQ above 70 will. Nor should they.

But ultimately, the sodomite omalley must be the next domino.
Maybe—but with Wuerl and Tobin also in play, if you were giving an even money bet, I’d take the bet. In fact—my money is on Wuerl.
I should have been more explicit. I consider donna to be well-done. Stick a fork in it. tobin could go first, but it would be more elegant to see sodomite sean precede him. Although, we shouldn’t forget about farrell.
"The office had a lot of buffers."
I’m trying to see if Paddy Power will give odds on who goes next. Drain the swamp.
“Drain the swamp.”
I’d rather add a lot of kerosene and light it up.
I favour millstones as more biblical, but there does seem to be a place for an old-fashion auto-de-fe
“Yeah we haddalotta buffas, senatah”
Bump
Kickham,the secretary,is from a well known,wealthy Irish Catholic family-——with lots of clout.

Just like Omoeba, eh?
I must admit, I feel sorry for these Cardinals. The outrage is overblown and unwarranted. That report by Shapiro is extremely prurient and slanted, designed to inflame emotions of ignorant people. (And win him Governorship!).
Oh, I see that much was indeed wrong. But attacking our own bishops will not help, it only creates more discord. Root out truth, fine, but why humiliate them?
I was intensely involved before, and to be honest, in these sensitive matters there is more misunderstood than clear.
Really????????
Enough clout to get an incompetent person appointed to a key position?
