June 15, 2018 (Society for the Protection of Unborn Children) Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has insisted that doctors will be forced to refer women for abortions when legislation is introduced following the repeal of the Eighth Amendment.
The remarks came after the National Association of GPs (NAGP) passed a motion that the body should "advocate for conscientious objection, without obligation to refer". Motions were also passed to call on the Health minister to ensure an "opt-in" provision for doctors who wish to provide abortion, and for him to confirm that he does not intend to "make a termination of pregnancy service part of routine general practice."
"Flies in the face of care and compassion"
Mr Varadkar hit back, saying: "No GP will be required to provide the service so we are very happy to accept the principle that it will be opt-in and, indeed, the legislation will provide for GPs to have a conscientious objection.
"But what we can't allow is this suggestion that a GP who does not provide the service will then refuse to refer their patient on to somebody who would. Because essentially that is the equivalent of 'you're on your own, love' and we are not going to have that."

History has taught us a very valuable lesson.
The Church can lead, it can never command. When it commands against the beliefs of the parishioners, they simply turn elsewhere to other leaders.
And ultimately, it is each parish where leadership is most effective. And in Ireland, there’s more than a few parishes which are leading and their flocks growing. But most parishes, just like in most of the world, leadership is fading and the parishes with them.
Ultimately, the problems of the Boy Scouts are the same as the Catholics; increasingly contributions come not from individuals but from corporations and the countries they pay taxes to. Money that comes with strings attached.
The liberals have crawled from every orifice they can find to undercut the Holy See. But the lack of leadership from Rome ultimately means nothing. The Pope is but a compass and while tools can break, he is honestly just an accessory. The Church is there to ease our path, not as the sole trail.
We can (and have) survived corruption within Rome. We simply can’t survive the loss of faith.
Turns out abortion requires medical staff to kill the unborn. Betcha the average Irish would change their vote if they saw a 4d ultrasound or an abortion video.
.
The Pope is catholic, but he is also an athiest!
.
Waiting for Francis to fly to Ireland and rally the troops against doctors being told that they have to be complicit in killing babies.
Upon occasion the Church turns to the written word rather than to living men.
Oh come on, are women that helpless and stupid they couldnt find a place that provides abortion services, on their own?
Who do they call to dress themselves and wipe their bottoms every day, too?
Yes, yes, yes
The women’s “reproductive rights” issue is a scam. Rationalizing the abortion holocaust essentially rationalizes the Nazis.
Like, the government can’t publish a list on a website...
Well, they voted to service pimps, now the people will lose health care in favor of the pimps
Wait till they see what evil beasts their country
Make no mistake
Abortion. Is not only murder
It’s truly evil in manyfold dimensionality
Destroyed lives. Forever through time
No country has ever actually physically fought over this. Can’t see the trend changing for Ireland in 2018, right? I mean almost all countries capitulated bloodlessly waaaaay before 2018.
Freegards
Oh well, I tried. Looks like the evil ones took over the first site.
