Why would anyone think it WOULD be a sin to criticize a pope? Of course, it’s not a sin. Is a pope special or something? Audacity.

Frankie did not move into the papal palace like all other popes,...

You mean the one like Peter lived in??? Oh, right. He didn't.

With this pope it’s an imperative.

Indeed, and never is mentioned being in Rome, while there was a reason the house of a tanner he was in was by the sea side. (Acts 10:6) But neither did the rest of the apostles live in the extravagant luxury so many so-called "word of faith" (fleece) preachers call home either.

Did I say anything about Peter? No, I didn't.

I shouldn't have to explain the obvious.

Oh no, there's more for sure.

I only commented on that part to illustrate the claims that Roman Catholicism has not changed since the time of the Apostles doesn't hold up to scrutiny.

Some of his closest advisors have said that any bishop who does not fall into line with Frankie's way of thinking - that they should be excommunicated. Anyone who speaks up and seems to disagree with his program is removed from positions.

Unam Sanctam doesn't give Roman Catholics the right to disagree with the pope. After all...isn't this what Rome did to the Reformers?

You said you don’t really want an answer, but I will give a partial one anyway.

None of the popes have renounced the anathemas from the Council of Trent. That takes us back to the 1520s.

I wonder how many people would be criticizing the Pope if they would have had to risk what happened to Jan Hus.

Thank goodness that there are no papal armies any more.

You said, "like all other popes," and which RCs make Peter, and thus presuming you are a RC, your statement would include Peter I shouldn't have to explain the obvious.

Frankie and Barkie kind of act and think alike.

Remember as Barkie was leaving office how he praised the press for their tough scrutiny of his Administration?   And then he lightly admonished them: "now don't be sycophants" when the next guy comes into power.

Oh, how he loved to hear those $10 words roll off his tongue!  When His Pot-Smoking Excellency spoke such scholarly words, it reminded him of his elevated stature among men and all the erudite legal analyses he could have written — but chose not to — as the first summa-cum-lauded, affirmative-actioned, and basically unqualified Editor of the Harvard Law Review.

Barkie would always dellllllllegate to his minions such unclean tasks as writing, thinking, and hard work.  Better for the Grand Community Organizer & Inquisitor to grab his bong and retire to his room to blow smoke at the dog — and forget those recurring nightmares of being chased by that bad man with the orange hair.

Those high priced words, the fool never knew the meaning
of them. Common sense and Corps Men are completely oblivious to him.

Just by saying "summa-cum-lauded", he would feel
he was spilling a dirty word into the ears of his audience.
He so enjoyed that experience; Your image brought a smile.
Blowing on 'dinner' to cool down the heat?

You mock the bully on the block, but you can never rid yourself of him

The worst part of this is that it perpetuates the idea that this guy is actually pope. Perhaps this is exactly why he said it.

LOL

I’m betting there are a lot of Bishops that cringe just about every time this guy opens his mouth to speak.

This is one vote they’d like to have back.

I’m betting there aren’t *a lot* of cardinals who cringe. I think they knew exactly what they were getting when they cast their vote.
