Because once it is ‘legal’ then it is a form of ‘healthcare’. The same as abortion being ‘contraceptives’. Exactly like ABORTION now EQUALS HealthCARE.
This means, OH YES, legal ‘assisted suicide’ is then a legal HEALTHCARE option. Which then is weighed out against other healthcare options.
READ THAT ABOVE ITEM AGAIN.
Then, realize extra meds (overdoses) are already given in HOSPICE when a patient is allowed to self-medicate (push button relief) and also care workers do assist too. This is already happening. Please DON’T let propaganda blind you.
The Hawaii Tourism Authority will have fun incorporating that into their ads. Islands of Death.
Because it’s only a short trip from “Right to Die” to “Duty to Die”.
Probably because like with all liberal plans, it doesnt stop there. It will, probably relatively quickly, get to the government deciding, for their best interest, who will be terminated, and when. The first step always makes some sense, and seems compassionate. The later steps are all control and pain.
Lines can be drawn as to how it’s accessed... and NO ONE would be entitled under any circumstance to request it but the dying persons themselves.
It’s always easy to stand outside and say NO until one walks the path of someone who has been given a biological death sentence.
Exactly! Lots of way to ‘do it’ w/out the gov pushing you into it.
Your post reminds me of a very funny movie.
Ever see the movie Joe Versus the Volcano?

The government shouldnt push it or stand in the way.
Assisted Suicide???!!! That’s an oxymoron. If someone is assisting you to die it’s not suicide - it’s murder.
You mean like “safe, legal and rare”?
That is exactly the lie said and believed by many to pass Abortion laws everywhere. They are still using that saying. And many are still believing it.
Meanwhile, thousands of babies are murdered daily in this ‘safe, legal, rare’ procedure in America alone.
It's the difference between being a conservative and being a libertarian.
When was the last time you heard of someone being arrested and convicted of committing suicide?
Agree. And anyone who kills someone could claim it was ‘assisted suicide~!’
Legalizing killing off someone is making it a healthcare option I don’t want some health insurance agency or government bureaucrat making. And they WILL HAVE A BIG SAY in if it will be done. Either directly or indirectly by what they will fund or allow in the health care plan for you.
"with the help of their Dr." is the key phrase here. Once you drag the medical profession, or for that matter any other person into your personal decision, it's no longer personal and it's no longer suicide.
Anyone who thinks this path can be kept narrow is a fool and is ignorant of history and human nature.
A lot of vicious liberals here need to be assisted, but they might not give permission.
Dont play dumb, Dr’s have access to medication to make it much more humane not to mention less messy.
Yes. By involving “health care” or should I say “death care”, it involves insurance. Then, pain meds for chronic pain or illnesses, other helpful services can be denied and yet, the “end of life” medications will be covered.encouraged. So, you can be forced to choose to live a life with unbearable pain or a quick comfortable death. Mmmmm
Slippery slope.
If I believe it is best for me to kill myself (and I would hope I never would), I will find a way. Leave the government out of it.
I cannot fathom how the Lord Christ’s cup of man’s disgrace has not long ago over runneth........
First they robbed the wombs...
Agree, however there is a problem if the ill person is comatose and cannot make the request.
Perhaps there should be a legal, notarized document similar to a DNR that can be carried by the individual or provided to a relative or attorney in advance of illness. The document would specify that the individual wants assisted suicide in the event of certain circumstances.
Meant to add to my post above:
There must be a change made to life insurance policies. I believe they withhold payment for two years if a person suicides. ...Assisted suicide should not be subject to that delay.
I’m 75, never hospitalized. However, if I was suddenly diagnosed with a terminal illness, etc., I certainly don’t want to put my remaining family members through having to look after me, as that would prolong my suffering and theirs.
btw... Nitrous Oxide is very popular for Dentists to use when they suicide in their office chairs. No pain. Should be used for prison executions and assisted suicide.
