A few months ago, I woke early with the words, The Queen’s Bastle,.
Not knowing what a bastle was or even if it was a real word, I looked it up. Yup, a bastle farmhouse, protection from the reivers on the Scottish border during the 13th C.
It would be like Mother to want us to take refuge in something homely, sturdy and down-to-earth, meaning refuge with her.
