Your church allows artificial birth control through either the rhythm method or NFP which both would go against prior Roman Catholic beliefs that sex that doesn't lead to pregnancy, or designed not to lead to pregnancy, was wrong.
In either case...it's birth control.
But like so much of Roman Catholicism you have to redefine the terms much as the RCC has done with divorce.
