(End of Scripture Passage)
In this Prologue to the Story of Moses, we read of two incredibly brave and compassionate ladies, Shiphrah and Puah. They heroically stood up to the giant machine which was the Egyptian Government to save the lives of infants. In this part of the narrative, they are the only people who have NAMES, Even Pharaoh is not named, ("Pharaoh" is just a title, meaning "The Great House", much like we use the term "The White House"), which has cause scholars and artists to speculate WHICH Pharaoh for millennia! This is complicated by the fact that the Ancient Egyptians chipped out all evidence of kings who were failures, or who fell from favor. The two midwives, however, have been enshrined in the Holy Scriptures and will never be forgotten.

The double standard is outrageous. As in the Animal Farm, some people are more equal than others.
Joining in prayer, left that other site, for the Peace of Jerusalem and for the coming the Messiah.
Agreeing in prayer!
Amen. Apparently lying was also okay with God in this instance, too.
But...was it really lying? After all, they just said that the Hebrew Women were more vigorous and healthy than Egyptian Women, and had their babies more easily.
That is actually borne out by Scripture, as the Hebrews were very fruitful and multiplied in the Land of Egypt...so much so that it worried Pharaoh to enslaving them. :-)
