Marriage is being destroyed, that’s the big plan and finally the Church is with the program. When you have no “husband” or wife, only partners, and they are equal to homos or singles or cohabiting or whatever (someone just married a goat), then there is no marriage. Society and the law phase it out.
With babies despised as global warmers, the other point of marriage also collapses. Without babies there is no innocence. There is no unity or reason to unify. Only solidarity, which is different.
The sacrament will survive, illegal, hidden, an arcane ritual for extremists.
If you think this song and dance is merely about Communion, gays, welcoming, conscience, families, dialogue, accompanying, etc, look at the broader picture, of which the Catholic structure is only a part. And it goes back past Vat 2.
