On the “integrity”, I had read that he had set things up where he would need to submit requuests to a board for even his own personal clothing and toiletries. Compare and contrast this with others. It must be true, that worldly possessions and holiness don’t mix.

I organized a fundraiser for the private school I work with and one of the mandates I put in place was that A) I didn't know who the donors were if B) I knew any amounts (as a general ledger amount of accounting. This way, I knew how much was coming in - but had zero access to it (this included setting up a Paypal account for easier donations from out of town) as well as any of the funding side. I wanted no recriminations coming back on me about any possible money funny stuff going on.

That year they raised over $14K - which they had been raising $2-3K per fundraiser.

I learned early on to not have hands near the donation plate if I was doing any of the other administrative aspects.

Even now, if I am helping with a sale or something else, I don't handle the money. (And I trust the one who does handle it.)

Knowing your potential temptations and how to resist it on the front end is how you keep the integrity.
