I do not mean to seem unkind to the poor, it is not the poor this commentary is about, but about the lazy.
Even Paul stated that “he who will not would will not eat”.
2 Thessalonians 3:10
I believe Paul was also speaking of the lazy that can work, but refused to work. Thus the lazy I write of in my commentary.
I’m in total agreement with what you said with the entitlement mentality of “free stuff” paid by others’ blood, sweat, and tears.
I wasn’t criticizing your commentary. The poor in our country aren’t poor, if you look at the Third World. Many have gadgets, housing, food, medicine, education opportunities, heat, electricity...
That couplet in Proverbs adds another dimension - as Jesus said, “You will always have the poor with you.” And many of the working poor I see when volunteering in a soup kitchen.
