Little Rock, Arkansas

February 15, 2018

“Cold weather – it’s not just for northern campaigns!”

Steve Karlen, 40 Days for Life’s North American campaign director, was on hand for “the strongest kickoff event in Little Rock in years.” By the end of the kickoff, Steve said it was rainy and in the 30s.

A teenage praise and worship group provided music … and a Catholic priest and Protestant pastor offered prayer as Little Rock’s 13th campaign got rolling.

“This group prays throughout the year,” Steve said. “On Friday, four mothers chose life – two of them already had money down for their appointments. This news was shared at the rally as encouragement for people to come out and make a difference during the campaign.”

Flint, Michigan

February 15, 2018

“You just never know how great the power of God is!”

It had snowed for three days and schools had closed. “Looking out the window about an hour before the kickoff, I was doubtful that anyone, even my team, would make it,” said Sarah, the local leader in Flint.

Some of the volunteers were snowed in and couldn’t get out of their neighborhoods. But when it came time for the kickoff, “to my surprise we had 26 people who braved over 14 inches of snow to come to our event!”

There was one concession to the weather, however. The kickoff was held inside. But with dedication like that, it should be an awesome campaign in Flint!
