And we wonder why we have the Bill of Rights as part of our US Constitution. This example is why Freedom of Religion was enshrined in our Constitution.

Vannrox,

If this is Fake News, so-be-it. However, human history has taught us there are people so vehemently hateful towards religion, putting up signs on Catholic churches is not outside the realm of the possible.

In short, we must always be ready to fight against anyone limited the rights enshrined in our Constitution.

Imagine your shock if you make it to heaven when you learn that Jesus’ church is the Catholic Church

A 14% chance based on subscription rates. Lousy odds.

It seems every day we hear of another church minister aproving
gay marriage so I think the kids are better off out of most
churches.

Home schooling any one?

“Like I just said...not easy being a Catholic in China...”

Yup, it’s not for sure. My fam and I spent two years as expats in China, lived in Shanghai, my kids attended Concordia International School which is Lutheran and we attended a nondenominational church. The Chinese government never bothered anybody attending either the school or church. However, only those on a passport were allowed to attend. Interestingly, while we ere there the Vietnamese government invited Concordia to open a international school in Hanoi. And, some of the teachers in the Shanghai school joined the startup team. Go figure....

No, it’s not bigotry to be against child molesters.

Bigotry is implying that all priests are child molesters. All aren't, a majority aren't, a large minority aren't, and only a tiny minority are.

So yes, what you are preaching is bigotry. It's as much bigotry as if China had passed a law banning old people from Protestant churches, and I said, "Well, at least their savings will be safe from the money-grabbing hucksters behind the pulpit".

By the way, I saw nothing in the article about children being banned only from Catholic churches.

Bigotry is implying that all priests are child molesters. All aren't, a majority aren't, a large minority aren't, and only a tiny minority are.

It's also bigotry to ASSUME she meant ALL priests. She didn't say any such thing.

It doesn't matter to those so abused if there's "only a few".

And since there's no way of identifying who those priests are by just looking at them, then certainly all priests come under suspicion. Too bad.

Considering the widespread nature of the problem and Romanism's beyond reprehensible dealing with the situation (as covering it up and moving priests around to fresh victims is NOT the correct response), there's no real reason to not suspect that Chinese priests are any different than any other priests.

Sure there are good ones who don't do this and would never think of it, but the Roman organization's failure to address the problem properly puts ALL priests under the same cloud of suspicion.

If there's any blame to be had for the lack of trust in the priesthood, it needs to be laid right at the feet of the Catholic hierarchy, who for decades at the very least, knew about it and not only failed to address it but actually facilitated it.

You are quite mistaken-— you defame like a Communist -— because it is mere moral defamation to say such things about good men, persecuted for Christ -— holy priests about whom there has been no scandal but the scandal of the Cross.

By “long-suffering. Cross-bearing” I was alluding to those under persecution.

It would be much more prudent to protect these kids from going to schools, youth activities and events run by the Chinese Communist Party.

I don’t have a problem with any country banning any religion for any reason.

Not wanting Christian missionaries converting their population was the main reason Japan had no interest opening up it’s borders. Of course the concept of manifest destiny meant we, along with the Brits parked warships in their harbor and explained they had no choice but to let us in.
