Cardinal Burke Criticises Benedict XVIs Resignation
It was not a good thing for the Church to lose its universal shepherd, Cardinal Raymond Burke has commented on the resignation of Benedict XVI, There is a certain feeling among many Catholics that their father abandoned them.
Talking to the Macau newspaper O Clarim (December 15) Burke expressed his hopes that papal resignations will not become a common practice.
The cardinal concedes that at the time of his resignation Pope Benedict had reached a certain age, but certainly he was in full possession of his faculties.
He is not convinced by the argument that Benedict was no longer able to travel or bear many audiences, Who says that the pope has to travel or that he has to receive so many people? I think it is necessary to re-examine the substance of the Petrine office.

when a pope resigns for health reasons after following a prior Pope who was a physical wreck for years but universally considered a great pope through it all, well, its hard to believe stamina was the real reason. But well never know a the truth, alas.
The "travel" argument makes no sense at all, in view of this modern invention called "video conferencing". Popes prior to Paul VI almost never traveled, unless they had to.
No, it would be welcomed worldwide by faithful Catholics.
imo Pope Benedict was blackmailed out of office by the homosexual mafia.
I’m waiting for the dirt on this. Wasn’t there a rumor that Obama threatened him? I mean, of course, ‘talked with him in a convincing way.’ Also the ‘wolves’ inside the Vatican may have been more than he could have fought. I loved Pope Benedict XVI and wish he would come forward and denounce the current imposter - or at least meet with the Stalwart Few (Burke, Sarah, Cordileone) to encourage them.
It disturbs me to no end that Benedict resigned. I think he was forced out. Jorge Bergoglio is the False Pope.
Blackmail assumes he had something to hide. Threats to his life and to the church in general is more likely. All of which has come to pass. The church has been thrown to the Marxist devils.
Although he isn’t happy about it, it looks like Cardinal Burke thinks Benedict’s resignation was legit.
Good grief! Thanks for linking the Remnant article from last year. Has anything come of this? Is it moving forward? Expose it to the light, Lord.
Welcomed worldwide - you’d better believe it. From our lips to your ears, Lord.
Or threats against his brother who is also a priest.
