I am a fan of Donahue and don’t doubt his statistics and their conclusion, but the Church deserves some responsibility for not weeding the homo postulants out before they took orders. I recall reading how some seminaries were blatantly decadent during the 50s on into the 60s.

Until fairly recently male homosexuals weren't allowed to "marry" and were appropriately ashamed of their perversion,rather than "celebrating" it as they do today. Given that,it's understandable that they'd choose the priesthood,in which marriage was forbidden.And it's not surprising that these perverts were inclined to engage in more than one form of perversion.
So of course "homosexuals" were responsible for the huge majority of the problems.
