The Inaugural Pope Leo XIII Award Gala will honor New York archbishop, Cdl. Timothy Dolan, with its Pope Leo XIII Award. Fr. Martin will serve as keynote speaker.

As head of the archdiocese of New York, Cdl. Dolan has the authority to disinvite Fr. Martin. Instead, he has chosen to honor the heterodox, homosexualist priest by sharing a stage with him.

Resistance member Mike Ghelardi, who spearheaded the Rosary rally, is calling on Catholics to denounce the pro-gay celebrity Jesuit.

We are soldiers for Christ. It's our duty as Catholics to resist heresy with all we have.Tweet

"We cannot remain silent and expect to enter Heaven," Ghelardi declares.

"We are soldiers for Christ. It's our duty as Catholics to resist heresy with all we have."

The Leo XIII Award "seeks to recognize Catholic clergy, religious and lay persons or organizations who best embody the ideals and values most cherished by the late pontiff" and "recognizes those who have served faithfully to advance and enhance the pontifical legacy and heritage of Leo XIII."

But Catholics are questioning how Dolan's record on homosexuality in his archdiocese could "best embody the ideals and values most cherished" by Leo XIII or how it could "advance and enhance the pontifical legacy and heritage" of the late pope.

Church Militant has reported widely on the scandal-ridden state of Dolan's archdiocese — the fact that it is run by a veritable gay mafia, is awash in corruption and consistently ends each year millions of dollars in debt.

On Thursday, the archdiocese of announced it has issued $40 million to nearly 200 victims of sex abuse.

The payout announcement comes in the middle of the archdiocesan "Making All Things New," campaign — a mammoth $200 million capital drive to press the faithful for more funds.

"Making All Things New" was launched on the heels of "the largest parish restructuring in New York's history, closing and merging multiple parishes — the result of dwindling Mass attendance, fewer priests and less money."

Pope Leo XIII was a faithful defender of Catholic teaching. He was renowned for leading the Church Militant in its fight against the diabolical — particularly heresy and the "tenets of unbridled license."

In his 1896 Encyclical, Satis Cognitum (On the Unity of the Church), Leo XIII wrote:

Every Revealed Truth, without Exception, Must be Accepted. The Church, founded on these principles and mindful of her office, has done nothing with greater zeal and endeavor than she has displayed in guarding the integrity of the Faith. Hence, she regarded as rebels and expelled from the ranks of her children all who held beliefs on any point of doctrine different from her own. ... In like manner were condemned all authors of heretical texts who followed them.

Following this, the pontiff issued a special word of caution, "There can be nothing more dangerous than those heretics who admit nearly the whole cycle of doctrine, and yet by one word, as with a drop of poison, infect the real and simple faith taught by our Lord and handed down by Apostolic tradition."

The December 11 Rosary rally will take place outside the Yale Club at 50 Vanderbilt Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, from 5:30–9 p.m. Anyone interested in joining can contact Mike Ghelardi at catholicwarriors@yahoo.com.
