Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD, Our God
Hallowed Be Your Most Holy Name,
Help us to see with Your Eyes,
Help us to hear with Your Ears,
And help us to see through the deceptions of this world.
Our Intellect and Education will not save us.
Our Careers won't save us.
Our Beloved Families can't save us.
Our Government, and even our precious Founding Documents can't save us.
Nor can our leaders, political or religious.
None have the power to save us, not our religion, friends, lovers, spouses, brothers, sisters, or parents,
Fame, fortune, ancestors or children.
We Must all stand before You, and You are the final Judge.
Only You have the Power and Grace to Save.

May the Leaders of Our Own Beloved USA
Receive Wisdom from You
to do the Right Thing.

We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

My Nephew, being a foolish youth, shot a NERF pellet out of the window of his car. It landed on a pick-up truck full of laborers, who jumped out of the truck and surrounded him in his car, punching him through the open window, and trying to pull him out of the car and beat him to death. My Nephew panicked, and slammed the car into reverse, driving over the leg of one of his assailants and ended up backing the car over a 15 foot granite cliff, crashing into the ravine below. As he struggled to get out of the car, the Police were waiting for him. It was my NEPHEW who was arrested, and the four laborers pressed attempted murder and assault charges against him.

Months passes with prison, continuances, incompetent public defenders, etc, and we did everything we could to raise money for his legal defense. (We prayed for him here on FR, and there were PAGES and PAGES of responses). Finally, after months of being shunted around the prison system, thousands of dollars, and the incredible wear and tear on my sister (who was dealing with the care of our aging Mother and the decline of her own husband into Early Onset Alzheimers), the charges were finally dismissed because of the testimony of one Witness, who happened to see the entire scene from her balcony. She had just awakened in the middle of the afternoon from a long night of work...as a Prostitute. By testifying on my nephew's behalf, she put her own life in legal jeopardy, because she had to reveal her profession in her deposition.

My Nephew's "salvation" came from a VERY unlikely source. It did not make sense that the woman should risk getting evicted or even arrested to save a stranger. But she did.

When we look at God's Plan for our Salvation, it doesn't seem to make sense either. Why would God allow His Son to be tortured to Death to save us? His Ways are not Our Ways, but every once in a while, something happens that illustrates that "Greater love hath No Man Than This: That He Gives His Life For a Friend".

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
