Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD, Our God
King of the Universe,
Creator of Everything There Is,
Designer of the Cosmos,
Lord of the Galaxies,
Conceiver of the Great Nebulae and Galactic Clusters
Maker of the Black Holes and Quasars,
Architect of the Solar Systems,
And Exquisite Artist of the Universe!
Every time a Scientist or Theoretician shows us a new phase of knowledge,
We Are overcome with Wonder,
Knowing You created it All!
Help us to keep that in perspective when we are suffering,
Or When Hope seems lost.
If you can create such wonders, Of Course You can save us from the looming abyss!

May the Leaders of Our Own Beloved USA
Receive Wisdom from You
to do the Right Thing.

We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Last Night, I happened to notice that on PBS, a Special program was going to be aired at 9:00PM called "Remembering Leonard Nimoy". I watched the time on my computer (which is in a different room from the TV) because I did NOT want to miss it. Leonard Nimoy was from my old neighborhood in Boston, MA, and his father was a Barber on Morton Street. The famous "Vulcan Salute" (Live Long and Prosper) was derived from the Priestly Blessing of Aaron in the Book of Numbers Chapter Six. Even the hand gesture is a symbol of this Blessing. Leonard first saw this gesture during the Rosh Hashana Service when he was about eight years old.

I was somewhat disappointed that the program spent more time talking about the disease of COPD and the dangers of smoking than it did about Leonard's wonderful career and family. What I loved about the early Star Trek Original Series was that it had a Sense of Wonder about the Universe. When the voice said "SPACE...The Final Frontier", you knew it was going to be BIG. Nothing was outside the realm of possibility, including Giant Amoebas, Ancient Greeks, Romans, or Native Americans, Rips in the Time/Space Continuum, or whatever. Although subsequent series became politically correct, preachy, CGI agenda-driven nonsense, The Original Series carried with it the notion that ANYTHING is Possible! Years later, The Hubble Telescope has shown that the Truth is even MORE Amazing than the Speculation.

A Prayer that Leonard recited daily as a child calls God "The King of The Universe". Not "King of the World, King of the Solar System, or King of the Galaxy. He is the King and Creator of the Universe, and we haven't seen even a tiny bit of it yet!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
