If we pray for our nation, the first prayer must be for REPENTANCE.

The bulk of the responsibility for the sad condition of our nation lies at the feet of the church, where men are building their kingdoms and bank accounts and believers are content going to church on Sundays, playing church games, and living like unbelievers.

The world looks at the church - and it sees itself. So why should it be interested?

The church is no longer “salt” to the nation, not a light shining of WHO God really is, not displaying the character, nature and power of the Lord Jesus Christ as seen in the book of Acts.

“Any Christian who can take it easy and not be saddened over the state of the church and the world today is out of fellowship with his Lord.”

Vance Havner, “Living in Kingdom Come”

I’d use the word “grieved” instead of “saddened”. He wrote the book 50 years ago........such is the decline since then.

In 100% agreement with your post.

Heavenly Father
We thank You for the mercy that You have extended.
Burn away the dross, Lord, that we may be filled with the Fire of Your Holy Spirit.
Let us not be found lukewarm.
