[Catholic Caucus] Cardinal Müller: Communion for Adulterers "Possible"

Cardinal Gerhard Müller regrets in his foreword to Rocco Buttiglione’s new book on Amoris Laetitia the "bitter controversy” aroused by this document. Buttiglione is a philosopher and Italian politician.

Müller supports Buttiglione's claim that Amoris Laetitia can be interpreted according to Catholic doctrine and distances himself from the philosopher Josef Seifert and from the “Filial Correction” who both have shown the heresies contained in Amoris Laetitia.

The cardinal admits that Holy Communion can only be received by sinners who repent and have the intention of no longer committing the sins they have confessed.

But then he claims that anyway bigamists may receive Holy Communion, for example in the case of a Catholic, living in a second union, who experienced a conversion in mature age and considers his first marriage invalid although this cannot be proven canonically.

With his claim Müller contradicts the New Testament and the Council of Trent which condemns the heresy that a person may judge in his own conscience and without ecclesiastical authority on the validity of his marriage.

It saddens me to see my church being hollowed out from the core.

Muller throws the 2,000 year old doctrine of the Catholic Church and the eternal Word of God under the bus trying to get along with his heretic pope and hopefully not get exhiled to Siberia for daring to speak the truth.

Müller has been trying out being orthodox and flaky, in alternate weeks. He seems to have found being on the flake more congenial.
