Father James Martin the notorious homosexualist is commending an excommunicated priest who revealed he was also a homosexual while married to an ex-nun.
Gregory Baum died on October 18 at 94 years old. America Magazine the liberal-progressive magazine published by the Jesuits and of which Martin is editor at large published an article, extolling Baum's alleged contributions to the Church's ecumenical relations with the Jews but mentioned little of the issue that brought him into the limelight.
Not only was Baum a priest and adviser during the Second Vatican Council in Rome in the 1960's, but he also notoriously fought against Pope Paul VI and Church doctrine, concerning the use of artificial contraception leading the charge against Church teaching in Canada with the Winnipeg Statement.
He revealed in his autobiography that while he was an adviser at the council he began a homosexual relationship with another man and continued it for years, even after he left the priesthood and married an ex-nun who knew and approved of the relationship.
In a retweet, Martin accuses Baum's critics as being homophobic because they focus on his dissent from Church teaching instead of his drafting of the Vatican II document Nostra Aetate.
In Baum's autobiography, The Oil Has Not Run Dry: The Story of My Theological Pathway, he reveals, "I did not profess my own homosexuality in public because such an act of honesty would have reduced my influence as a critical theologian," and added, "I was eager to be heard as a theologian, trusting in God as salvator mundi (Savior of the world) and committed to social justice, liberation theology and global solidarity."
Martin, himself, has been outspoken in his support for homosexual activity, claiming chastity is not required of homosexual persons, that Catholics should "venerate" so-called gay marriage and that former homosexuals don't lead a "fully integrated life."
In his latest book, Building a Bridge: How the Catholic Church and the LGBT Community Can Enter Into a Relationship of Respect, Compassion and Sensitivity, Martin continues his mantra of denying Catholic Church teaching on human sexuality and natural law.
Besides having the support of four bishops Cdl. Kevin Farrell, prefect of the Vatican's Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life, Cdl. Joseph Tobin, archbishop of Newark, Bp. Robert McElroy of San Diego and New Zealand Bp. Patrick Dunn fellow Jesuits and other priests in New York City have been supporting him and his efforts to normalize sodomy.
At Blessed Sacrament Church in New York City, Martin's friend, Fr. John Duffell, publicised the ongoing LGBT "fellowship meeting," at the parish.
Martin has not only advocated for such meetings, but he has joined and promoted them despite the fact they don't teach Catholic moral doctrine.
Bump for later.
I believe that Fr. Martin is involved with the newly established $45 MILLION DOLAR Sheen Center in New York!! The good Bishop Fulton J. Sheen is rolling over in his grave with all the LEFTISTS involved with this center!!
Whatever, Church Militant. How is Milo doing? Virtue signal much??
Prayers up for Holy Mother Church.
