Agreeing in prayer.
I believe pretty soon there won’t be but a few ounces of truth being preached/taught in many of the churches in the USA. I joined a church two years ago and I really think I have made a mistake. . . the latest that really has me going is they are handing out candy for Halloween and making a big deal about it. . .calling it outreach to kids, family and community. They even have a monetary drawing for cash (which I don’t think a child can sign up for unless a parent has signed on). Halloween is from the very pits of hell. This “oh, the kids just like dressing up and like getting candy.” Really? These kids eat candy every day. . .a “treat”? I don’t think so. Several years ago, the preacher’s wife dressed the youngest daughter in a full fledged witches outfit. . .and went door to door. My mother was totally appalled.

Most Evangelical Churches have some kind of "alternative" to Halloween, like a Bible Costume Party or a Harvest Celebration. Anything other than the one that you described...that's pretty BAD! (sigh)
