Hate to get all political, but if the mom were not a stereotypical loudmouth liberal, I suspect this would not be happening in this family. There is enabling behavior going on here. A young teen wouldn’t be doing this whole transitional thing without parental approval.
Yes, I feel like her mother has been almost grooming her for several years. She has been rejected by her mother and my brother has tried to fill that void.
I regret not being closer to them, maybe we could have made a difference.
But I am afraid to say anything now or risk being cut off entirely from communication.
