I might add that there is anecdotal evidence that General Alleby was WELCOMED into Jerusalem by the Arabs, because, coincidentally, his name sounds like “Prophet of Allah” in Arabic.
While this might be just a story, the fact remains that Gen. Alleby took Jerusalem without having to fire a single shot.
