Africa, South America and parts of Asia may actually be global leaders at the end of the 21st century. I believe most of what Europe and the USA have achieved in terms of freedom are a direct result of a judeo-christian worldview. We are rapidly abandoning this while Africa is rapidly Christianizing. You reap what you sow...
The African church has been the salvation of Methodism, because they BELIEVE what Scripture says and have to actually APPLY it to difficult lives.
Discernment, discernment, discernment!
There are MANY ‘preachers’ from Africa that preach a Jesus who is not the Jesus of the Bible. Given the average African is poor, the false doctrine of the ‘prosperity gospel’ is VERY popular in Africa, as is the closely related ‘oneness pentecostalism’. That false doctrine denies the Trinity, instead claiming that God is one person who appears in three ‘modes’. In the US, T. D. Jakes is the most well-known purveyor of that false doctrine, even yet, never having renounced it.
The other big issue with many African preachers, again related to ‘oneness pentecostalism’, are the focus on ‘signs and wonders’ and ‘personal revelations’ from God, ahead of Biblical truths.
Are there good, Biblically faithful preachers coming from Africa? YES! There are however, many ‘wolves in sheep’s clothing’ coming over. DISCERNMENT! DISCERNMENT! DISCERNMENT!
For a 1000 years until the 16 the century, China & India had the biggest economies by far compared to any other country. One was Buddhist & Tao and the other was predominantly Hindu. Both fell behind when steam power was discovered in Western countries which fostered industrial era and their economies leaped ahead.
Africa may be gaining Christianity but the European Union economy is currently larger by orders of magnitude than Africa and it will be a few centuries before Africa will be on par with Europe.
